2023 marks the 4th annual Blazing 5k. The last three years historic races welcomed elites and runners of all types. The 5k course starts on the back loop in Water Works Park and shoots out the gun going clockwise on the flat and fast loop. At the end of the loop the racers are greeted by a prize for the first person to cross the mat. From there it's another flat and fast main loop going clockwise. This area offers plenty of space for spectators and the field can be seen for almost the entirety of this loop. It finishes on the screaming fast and long straightaway to the finish.

After 3 successful years of racing a fast 5k, we feel confident that we can present to you a equally exciting mile race in addition to the 5k. The race is designed to give everyone a chance to race the best. Shortly after the finish of the men's elite 5k, all are welcome to race the mile along the Blazing 5k's Final Straight. This is another chance to grab a 2nd PR for the day or just see what you can do over the combined 6.609 kilometers. Join us for this new an exciting double! Special pricing for those doubling. Under 12 year olds get to race for $10.
